We had a late start to the harvest this year – first fruit picked was 16th December by one of our smaller growers. The Tasman District experienced significant rainfall on 18th and 19th December which held back the start of the harvest, for Waimea Plains’ growers, until 20th December.

That was the only rain that growers saw for the whole of the harvest season. This meant the fruit was lovely and dry throughout the harvest period and picked beautifully.

Volumes were as expected and Boysenberries New Zealand is again in a great position to fulfil our national and international orders.
